There has been a lot of talk about whether Obama has been effective in his Presidential term or not. Many bash him, many adore him; either way few could be him. During his State of the Union Address speech, he mentioned implementing ideas on building up the manufacturing industry. He touched up on issues between the Democrats and Republicans, but reminisced on his accomplishments.
His most memorable message that gripped my attention was when he said, and don't quote me, "a republican or a democrat, together as Americans, WE were able to get Osama and take him out. It didn't matter what status they held in society or where they came from, or which party they represented, we did it together."
If you look in the news or magazines, you will recognize how much of a people person Obama is. You will notice how down to earth he is; and because of those traits, I believe he has done an amazing job at turning a few things around after Bushe's Presidency. But ofcourse people do not see that you cannot change the world in one term, nor can you address all of the problems and wants of those in the United States in one term. Obama came into turmoil; a complete political and societal mess. And still, after his amazing speech and his commendable and legendary accomplishments, people had negative comments such as these that scream, YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

I want to know what you guys think about him as a President. What are your comments on this video and do you agree? I feel like people look past the stats and judge him like they freakn personally know him. My opinion, if you do not know where he has gone wrong or if you have no knowledge on issues he has addressed and they ways in which he has addressed them, then where are you getting your opinions from...OTHER PEOPLE right? Which, in turn, really isn't yours...right?!

ReplyDeleteI am not here to criticize or praise Obama, I just want to point out that his ability to deliver amazing speeches makes him dangerous. Everytime I watch him speak, his rhetoric is so good and his delivery is so top-notch that it makes me want to believe everything he is saying. The video says that Obama is just "mouthing words" but is not going to do anything. And to some extent, I believe this is true. Although I am a Democrat, Obama's speeches to me always have seemed too good to be true. He is a great persuader and that is probably why he has won the election but I would love to see him actually DO some of the things he says he will.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the point that Obama is usually judged too harshly. I believe that for a president who walked into complete turmoil politically and in the society, Obama has come a long way. Americans have a tendency for asking for too much and that is the reason most aren't satisfied with all that Obama has already done to help this country.
